A group of guys attacked someone. Why are their nationalities so important in this assault?

You know that many on this forum cannot resist a gratuitous bit of "Brit bashing"........

It's fair game, the Brits did bash the French first wink.png

Thats because the French surrender their capital without firing a shot.

Probably all in the shower... NOT!

It is amazing that Brits are getting involved in so many fights in Thailand. I just don't understand why mostly they fight with other foreigners? Is it because they don't dare fighting with Thai? I think that is the reason.

I think they fear the Thais.. same Brits that call Thais cowards.

Anyway I fear everyone who likes violence and is not smart enough to think about the consequences. People without fear of repercussions of their actions are dangerous.

Every one should fear Thai males.

They don't fight to ANY rules, they will join a fight with NO idea why they and others are beating down on the lone victim.

That's generally why people consider them cowards.

By the way I don't condone violence just stating what I see and hear!

I've also gotta ask Mr farouqh. Where he gets his statistics about British males fighting in Thailand???

Khaosod Thai said that the British guy who reversed his bike and knocked over the French guy's bike is a part owner of the Last Bar and called Thomas. He was the one who called over his mates that carried out the attack.

Picture of the injured parties with their wives at the police station.

Obviously Brit's been here too long, picked up Thai fighting methods.

No different than Koh Samui with British want to be Gang, Mafia Thugstrer Drug dealers and not just a couple but Many many many...They have become as annoying as the Russians.

Shut up! You don't know what you're talking about. How many people die in England per year in drug related issues and gun related issues. Then look at your own country.

Gratuitous? What part of condemning a group of thugs whipping-up on another smaller group is gratuitous bashing?

Good effort at a double mis-quote of my post!!

Nothing wrong in 'bashing' thugs like this, I have no time for such people.

The point is made that nationality is irrelevant where thuggery is concerned yet some posters will take the opportunity to 'bash' the nationality - in this case Brits.

Is that clearer?

Please try not to misquote me in future.

In a most feeble reply, you said, “The point is made that nationality is irrelevant where thuggery is concerned yet some posters will take the opportunity to 'bash' the nationality - in this case Brits.”

Why is the nationality of the basher irrelevant? Is it not part of the definitive identification of the bashers?

It appears you too are ashamed of your countrymen, but are still ready to defend their scandalous actions. Shame on you.

Ah, so it isn't just Thai males who don't have the testicles to fight one on one ….

Don't think the article actually said how many where fighting, it did say that there where four British and two French.

Personally, I hope the Udon authorities take note of the proliferation of farang bars and massage shops along the Soi in which this incident took place and keep careful control of it. By which I mean making sure that it does not spill over into adjacent streets or get too sleazy in and of itself.

Yes would be terrible if it spilled over into the Thai brothels in the adundayalat alleys just a few 100m north of there.. Where the undocumented Laos girls have to work..

Because those sleepy udon bars are soooo sleazy !!!

Farang would have been an adequate description.

You clearly cannot read, or are simply stupid, as you like to misquote and then make accusations. I am not "too ashamed of my countrymen" - I have no feelings either way, I detest thuggery and I detest stereotypical nationality bashing (of any sort). Nowhere have I tried to "defend their indefensible actions" - a foolish and inaccurate accusation on your part.

Tsk, Tsk, name calling now. You really are ashamed, aren't you?

Interesting case for the BIB to exercise their professionalism on. giggle.gif

A ' 'British ' crashed his motorcycle, a British what ?

Now, with 4 constituent countries to choose from this is a job for Super Sleuth, oh sorry Chalerm's out of favour.

British Person. The motorcycle was probably not british.

Obviously. If it had been British, it wouldn't have run. whistling.gif

clap2.gifclap2.gifclap2.gif Or, if it had have run, it would have left a big pool of black oil on the road .....................cheesy.gif

Is this thread about "back to the future"

It's no longer the swinging "60"s BTW

To be honest, I think that both the nationalities of assailants and victims are usually quoted in cases like this. However, you do not often see 'Thai gang' beats up .........man. The point being that when it involves foreigners, "name and shame", but Thais wouldn't do that - would they?

By the way, I am British, and the cliches that could be applied to this lot are uncountable ,but suffice to say that they would be better off taking their attitude back to the streets of the UK, and good riddance. But hopefully before they go, some Thais might do what they wouldn't do, right?

So you fellas are taking this as word for word gospel are you? A story not only told by the 'defeated' side but told to Thai Wives, who in turn tell the police, who in turn translate that to Ferang press. And your taking that as exactly what happened. Cracks me up.

It could be exactly as told - the French guy asked the Brit to be more careful, the Brit calls his mates, they steam in and leather the French fellas.

It could also just as likely have happened like this: Brit guy knocks over French guy bike. French guy starts shouting at the Brit "You Fxxxing British Arsexxle". British guy shapes up the French guy, French guy's mate runs over and they both start shaping up to British guy, who calls his mates over to help out. It could have been 3 British guys standing watching with only 2 doing the rowing for all you know.

As I said, it could also have been the reported version but my point is you must be crazy to believe the reported version without considering the story may have been embellished at best, or totaly constructed at worse!

When was the last time you saw aggressive Frenchmen?

And when was the last time you saw aggressive Brits?

I rest my case... coffee1.gif
