Man shot dead outside Club Solo in Chaweng Koh Samui

KOH SAMUI: -- This morning Friday 13th of February a man was shot dead outside the popular Bar Solo venue in Chaweng Koh man shot dead in ChwengSamui.

Early reports suggest the victim is a Turkish national who got into a drunken altercation with a security guard; Eye witness reports suggest that the deceased pulled out a gun and threatened the security guard who shot back in self defense. The police found two guns, a 9mm and a 35mm as well as a knife in the deceased man’s possession.

Local people have reported that the deceased was well known in Samui where he lived and ran several businesses, one local Thai news channel reported that the man was thought of as a local gangster in the area.

This is like the gunfight at the ok corral, where arguments are settled by shoot outs.

All these illegally run foreign businesses staffed by undesirables and thugs that have muscled there way into the area should be shut down. These sorts of establishments located on many of the so-called paradise Islands are best avoided because visitors and tourists who are unfortunate enough to become involved in any disputes are likely to end up the same way as this Turkish chappie.

Is Solo that bad now they need armed doormen?....pleased got away from there a long time ago

When I came first to Cambodia 2005/2006 that was normal, Kalaschnikow MP security guards in front of Big Bars and Discos and signs, =To give your gun to the guard= before entering the premises.

Think, it only slightly changed until now. whistling.gif

Koh Samui, Surat Thani: The shooting and killing of a Turkish tourist on Koh Samui Friday took a new twist as police arrested a bar manager and his worker on Saturday for allegedly murdering the man in cold blood.
