george Posted August 29, 2006 Share Posted August 29, 2006 New province to celebrate HM the King's 80 th birthday BANGKOK: -- The government has come up with a new idea on Tuesday as they propose to establish a new province to commemorate HM the King's 80 th anniversary next year. They assigned a panel to conduct feasibility study to merge Chaam district of Phetchburi with Hua Hin, Pranburi and Samroiyod sub district of Prachuab Khiri Khan province. HM the King has Klaikangwon Palace in Hua Hin. Interior Minister Gen Kongsak Wantana said this initiative has been studied for quite some time, so the government believed it should be concluded within next year, the year HM the King turns 80. Kongsak was speaking after attending the Cabinet's weekly meeting on Tuesday. Meanwhile Permanent Secretary to Interior Sutjarit Patchimmanan said officials would be assigned to conduct opinion surveys with local people on the initiative. "The study and surveys would not take long time as we have almost information we need.
