It's easy to find, when driving into Prachup, turn left before the train line and then follow the train line, Palmsweet is up on the left hand side, it's next to the train line, obviously if you don't like the noise from trains Palmsweet wil not be for you, I love the sound of trains so no problem for me! Aun Tuan opposite the 7/11 on Salacheep road for 550 baht, Nopporn next to it with a pool for 500 baht, Sunbeach Guest House on the main beach is great value from 700 baht with a pool and by far the cleanest hotel in Thailand. There are many choices in PKK. Pop into my restaurant called Twiggs Bakery and I can point you in the right direction if you like. I am opposite Wat Koh Rak. I'm really looking forward to staying there when we come back. From what people are saying, it seems living costs are lowish there and I like the laid back sound of it, not to mention the beaches and cheap seafood etc! There is a French guy who has lived in PKK for about 8 years, speaks good Thai. He has set up a community based website to promote PKK as a destination. The site is informative and does not promote any business or tourist spot in particular. You may find info from the site or make contact with him for more detailed things about PKK. I've looked on the web for rental companies around there and they all have annoying fine print that could clear you out if things don't go perfect. Somebody on TV told me Hertz has a good rate with unlimited KM and full insurance for everything, but I do not see any Hertz anywhere in those areas. Cheers for that, was due a couple of weeks in Prachup starting tomorrow but decided due to the weather would postpone until the 3rd, will be moving from Phuket sometime in the future, love Prachup! Nearest high school is a Catholic private at Tab Sakae, about half hour south. Has a good EP for bout 25k per term, mini van picks up and drops back at the Catholic church in Prachuap. We ended up enrolling the daughter into Prachuapwittayalai which has an MEP but only goes to M3 at this stage. We are hoping it will be extended over the next couple of years. For my wife and young daughter to get out of the smog in Chiang Mai. Not too pricey, air-conditioning and cooking area. I will join for first week. They will have transport. Any ideas?
