webfact Posted April 8, 2015 Share Posted April 8, 2015 "4 NOs" Safe Songkran zones to be identified in BangkokBANGKOK, 8 April 2015 (NNT) – The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has zoned off “Safer Songkran” areas in fifty districts in Bangkok where sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages, obscene activities and powder will be strictly prohibited under the slogan "4 NOs", Deputy Governor of Bangkok Pusadee Tamthai announced.She said that Songkran celebrations should be alcohol-free in order to maintain the essence of the Thai New Year's Day tradition and ensure safety and enjoyment for all tourists. Besides, the 4-NOs campaign also complements the "Safe Metropolis" policy of Bangkok Governor M.R. Like almost everything else in this excuse for a country nothing, absolutely nothing will be done,however we will be regaled by statistics that claim that as a direct result of the intervention from the BMA that Songkran was safer.
