PATTAYA: -- A well-known Captain Jack Sparrow Impersonator, who would entertain crowds with his magic tricks, died in a late-night road crash in East Pattaya on Sunday Night.

Khun Jirasak aged 44 has been seen around Pattaya dressed as the fictional character Captain Jack Sparrow from the Pirates of the Caribbean series of films but on Sunday Night he lost his life following a head-on collision between his bike and a bike driven by Khun Tanaporn aged 40, a motorbike taxi driver, who is currently in a coma in Hospital.

Khun Kwanorn aged 42 is a convenience store owner in Soi Tungklom Tanmun, where the crash occurred. She saw the victim, minutes before the fatal crash as he stopped at the store to purchase cigarettes. She described him as being intoxicated.

Head-on between two motorbikes, and Captain Jack allegedly intoxicated ? I'm sorry, but I've got to feel more the for motosai rider if that is the case - just trying to earn a living and ends up in a coma. Messed up.

As with anything reported in the local media, I have to give both sides the benefit of the doubt. RIP Captain Jack.

Looks like Billy Joel is on his last legs too.

did he in his life, pay royalties for this impersonation ?

Jeez,

That's why all of the fun has gone out of this world.

Do you think that people who download movies are thieves too?

Well, as I've always said........................"I'm not in any hurry to die but I'll be glad when I'm dead". (original quote, don't use it if you are not going to pay royalites.)

Such is the speed they were both traveling to cause death and a coma out of 2 bikes

colliding... speed and intoxications deadly mix....

Travelling in opposite directions, each doing 60kph+, I suppose. In that case one of them was driving in the wrong direction. My bet is the motocy, as they do that on regular basis.

EDIT: Ah right, it was C'tan driving on the wrong side this time. Lost my bet.

funny how you arm chair detectives come to conclusions, it was a head-on collision, i could walk 50 yards from my condo and see many motor bike taxis, riding on the "wrong " side of the road , against opposing traffic, so how can you judge, or perhaps you were all there and witnessed it, (yep thought so,no you wern't, probably wrapped up in bed with your cup of cocoa, you are all guessing again)

More importantly, "... did he in his life, entertain and make people smile with his impersonation ?"

-Hence my 'benefit of the doubt' comment ....the TV way is to lynch someone based on the first report submitted by a Thai on the back of a motorbike, desperate for some kind of eyewitness account. Not gonna change anytime soon - we just like lynching people. That said, if he was drunk it woulldnt have improved either of their chances even if the motosai rider WAS on the wrong side of the road - all pure speculation based on nothing more than the near misses I see every single day. Thai men, in particular, seem to have absolute confidence in their own reflexes and those of everyone else around them on the road - totally misplaced IMO,

Never drink and drive, unfortunately locals living here thinks its okay with a few beers or whiskey and drive your bike home.

And the police does nothing to prevent it, I see a lot of helmet controls but never seen they do random tests for alcohol.

The police have become very active this week in Pattaya with road blocks breath testing all that are stopped

"CCTV in the area confirmed Khun Jirasak was driving at a high rate of speed and appeared to cross over to the opposing lane which is thought to be the main cause of the crash."
