Jai Dee
MOU agreed upon between Thailand and Nepal in dispatching Nepalese workers to Thailand The Labour Ministry will sign a memorandum of understanding with Nepal to dispatch Nepalese workers to Thailand. Caretaker Labour Minister Somsak Thepsuthin (สมศักดิ์ เทพสุทิน) said the MOU will help end illegal smuggling of Nepalese into Thailand. Mr. Somsak said training on languages and cultures will be provided for Thai employers and Nepalese. There are now 6,193 illegal alien Nepalese workers in Thailand, he added. He also said the ministry is preparing to send 10,000 Thai workers to the United Arab Emirates under a state-to-state contract. These workers should bring home six billion baht per year, Mr. Somsak said. The exports, however, will have to be approved by the new government, he said.
