inzman
Another accident blamed on the brakes. It's never the drivers fault. This culture will never progress until people are taught responsibility. Jeez!
Chang_paarp
Driving to the conditions does not seem to be in the mindset. Conditions include the state of the vehicle, state of the road and the state of the driver.
lostinisaan
Sorry for the injured guys and hope nobody will have serious issues. I work in Uthumphon Phisai, drive from Sisaket back and forth every day. Guess the driver was just trying to do similar stunts to drivers from Uthumphon Phisai. Before I thought that Sisaket drivers would be the worst, but hell no. They top all. DILLIGAD
It is NOT a. Sharp curve, it's a bend so driver error is likely to be the cause, I'm sure.
Happy Grumpy
It will be a cold day in h3ll before a Thai admits being at fault. A sad way to exist.
Pattaya28
And another overturned coach. Why would he need to apply the brakes ? Easing off the accelerator , which probably wasn't even necessary, would have been the option. Probably did this route a 1000 times.
oneday
"...he said that he applied the brake to slow down the speed as he tried to negotiate the curve, but the brake failed to work properly..." ok, ok, ok right ok...sorry sorry, just can't stop. MobileContent
Of course the brakes will be useless if you speed in a curve with 100km'h
lostinisaan
It is NOT a. Sharp curve, it's a bend so driver error is likely to be the cause, I'm sure. I believe the driver fell asleep, considering the distance he already made, He's only 100 km away from his destination Ubon. Of course would a bus driver never say that he's very tired. Blame the curves is always a better option. Nothing about the passengers' nationality. No foreigners on the bus, with their new girl friend? The hospital in Uthumphon Phisai isn't really the right address for serious injuries. Get well soon !!! "The driver of Srimongkol Tour Company’s tour bus, Mr Daoruang Butsriphum, told police that the bus carrying about 20 passengers from Pattaya to destination in Ubon Ratchathani." About 20 passengers in Thailand could also be 55, or 8. Hope they didn't forget some under he bus.

quandow
In civilized countries they test the vehicles in those "it must have been the brakes" theories.

lostinisaan
so the fault lies with the bus company and their poor maintenance . I bet no one gets procecuted I don't think that the brakes caused the crash. They only have one driver on their buses and people do get tired from time to time. He already drove around 550 km, the accident happened 2 km before Uthumphon Phisai and 95 km before the destination Ubon. That's why I prefer to travel with NCA. They always have two drivers on board.
mango66
I think also the driver is not complete correct in his statement, I beleave more in this, that the street suddenly changed its direction, and with all his scills and effort, he was not able to follow the street which changed !!
