geovalin
Police say Phnom Penh massage parlour offered sex with children A husband and wife were arrested on Monday with police alleging their Phnom Penh massage parlour was a brothel offering sex with underage girls. Toch Bros, 52, and Young Thoun, 36, are being questioned by anti-human trafficking police, following a raid at their business in the capital’s Chamkarmon district on Monday night. According to the police report, six girls, mostly underage, were rescued from the premises. Barin
This is a serious offence in any country including Thailand and Cambodia. If proven to be guilty put those 2 bastards in prison for 10 years!

empireboy
Underage and children are two words that need defining I think. They do not mean the same thing in every country. E.g., in some countries it might be 16 in other 18 Etc etc. Just a point of clarity.
razer
Underage is whatever the USA says it is (except for military service) in any country ... there were quite a few 17 year old child soldiers in the Vietnam conflict. Photo is a child victim Belusconi was involved with.

Japan is 13... and even in Switzerland prostitutes can legaly start at age of 16...
ggt
The families of the six "rescued" girls are asking for their release so they can get back to work quickly... Paid sex with underage children is a worldwide problem...more so in SE Asia...
humqdpf
According to Wikipedia, "The age of consent in Cambodia is 15.[7] However, the law against human trafficking makes purchasing sex from a minor under the age of 18 illegal and punishable by imprisonment. Foreigners have been prosecuted under this article for sexual relations with 16-17 year olds." In other words, these children could have been 17 years old. Just to put it in context, the age of consent in some European countries in 14 or less, depending on circumstances.

Benmart
Been to Cambodia many times. Never offered anything other than an Ankor beer or another unwanted tuk-tuk ride. Unlawful behavior is not restricted to Cambodia or SE Asia. It seems to make better press for those who consider themselves to be "purer" than others. The age of 14 is meant for other reasons, to define the legality. ( under 14 years old is always rape ) above 14 to 16 can't be an adult involved or max 5 years or so older 16 to 18 grey zone about the other participants age, 18 up, free to go Prostitution is 18 and up, even some country's 21 and up Age of consents means that the girl can give consent to have sex, it is not related with prostitution. Most Karaokes have 15 yr old , playing and drinking with older men, nothing wrong, the sex is separated and takes places in "resorts" where the girl and the man are in "private" Its a very thin line to walk on... Expatthailover
Love how so many on this thread are defending the indefensible. If some filthy old foreign pervert showed an interest in a 15 yo daughter of one of these 'defenders' I'd love to see the reaction.
Sumarianson
In Thailand and Cambodia, if everyone who had sex with a minor was put in jail, the jails would be overflowing. Sex is rife with young girls in this part of the world and parents just throw their hands in the air and say " what can you do"!

It means no prosecution for consensual acts as in boyfriend/girlfriend. Money changing hands is still illegal in some areas, especially when one is not considered fully "adult".
