Mr. Belorzuko agreed and accompanied the pair to a room nearby.After the three of them had concluded whatever they were doing together, Mr. Belorzuko checked his belongings and found that items had been taken from his bag. He claims an IPhone 4 and 10,000 Baht in cash had been stolen. He began to question the two Ladyboy’s and then escalated the situation by forcibly going through their belongings which led to a physical altercation, during which time one of the Ladyboy’s produced a knife and repeatedly slashed the face of Mr. Belorzuko, who retreated and reported the incident at Pattaya Police Station. sunluvr Posted July 23, 2015 Share Posted July 23, 2015 in my 10 years of becoming a regular visitor to Thailand for extended periods, I have gotten to know several Russian tour guides - some Thai, some Russian.. the ones that I met (mostly during high season) worked long hours, a lot of their income being based on commissions they made from their customers' purchases at various shopping venues.. they could manage a reasonable living (by Thai standards) when times were good but even then, I never knew any of them that were flush enough with cash to walk around with 10,000 baht in their pocket.. and it's not the end of the month yet so it's not like he was walking around Soi 6 looking for his landlord to pay his rent.. plus one Russian that I knew working for one of the main tour companies in Phuket got laid off in February after 3 years working for them and sent home, as many others did, due to the significant drop in the numbers of Russians not coming to holiday in Thailand thanks to their domestic economic problems - and that was during high season!! and NO ONE I know would ever be senseless enough to try and provoke 2 ladyboys into an altercation.. stupid stupid!! Me thinks maybe this Russian 'tour guide' may have found some way to supplement his income, likely involving himself with the seedier side of life in Pattaya, resulting in this kind of situation... Russians, Pattaya, ladyboys, sex.. not surprised at all with the outcome, and no sympathy here.. get stitched up, stay away from the ladyboys and get back to your tour guiding or go back home.. First thing, I grabbed was it's purse and threw it on the ground so he/she/it could not pull out a knife. One uppercut to the jaw sent it to the ground post haste. I retrieved my chain and took it's cell phone before moving on. Next day I made contact with a local mafia boss to square my situation with this LB. I explained I would return the phone providing the word is put out that I am off limits in Phuket. Option two, phone goes to the police and I file assault charges. He agreed to take care of it, and that was the end of that. My time in Phuket was incident free for the remainder of my trip. I don't recommend getting into a fight with a LB. For the same reason you see Chinese tour guides or Korean tour guides - the level of English proficiency across Russia is relatively low and Thai even lower, so visitors from those countries need specialist assistance. That's the little alleyway BEHIND Soi 6. Anyone walking down there by themselves has a death wish. When I first came here in 2006, Soi 6 had a festive spirit about it. Cries of "Handsome man!" heard throughout the night and not a SINGLE LADYBOY! Now it reeks of desperation, the girls' heads buried in their phones, and angry, aggressive labyboys striking fear in the hearts of all passerby's. Sad indeed.
