jayrockwell
A few months back I built some bird's nests to put around the land, so far we've only had 1 family of birds move in, but 5 houses full of bees. They've spent the last 6 months nesting (or whatever they do), and father came round today to extract the honey, here's what happened: So as not to take up too much ThaiVisa bandwidth I have posted the rest of the pictures at: http://66.193.174.31/~ranong/ if you'd like to look at them J Edited May 31, 2004 by jayrockwell

kasi
If you made a bunch more honey you could start making your own mead. The locals would love that!
jayrockwell
After we cleared them out I think they were a bit upset, they have only just come back again, we have put up really big boxes this time. We got 300 baht a bottle for the last lot, not sure if I can be bothered to do process it, but thanks for the tip. J
kasi
Seeing how successfull you were without even trying you might be able to make alot of honey. I've never had a source of honey so I've never tried it but from what I understand making mead is a long process (it needs 6-12 months in the bottle to age) . I hear the results are often rewarding.
