george Posted September 22, 2006 Share Posted September 22, 2006 Thaksin's brother detained CHIANG MAI: -- Soldiers took Phayup Shinawatra, the brother of ousted prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, away from the Chiang Mai International Airport. Soldiers charged in to apprehend Phayup while he was walking down the stairway of an airplane of the Thai Airways International, which arrived from Bangkok at 2:30 pm. Soldiers did not allow Phayup to take a Mercedez Benz, which was waiting for him but took him inside a military van.
