george Posted September 22, 2006 Share Posted September 22, 2006 New police commission appointed BANGKOK: -- The new Police Civil Service Commission was appointed Friday, shortly after the coup makers issued two announcements to get rid of politicians from the commission and to empower the national police chief to be executioner of power over police affairs instead of the prime minister. The commission is chaired by Police Commissioner-General Pol Gen Kowit Wattana, who in turn appointed two members - Pol Gen Phatcharawat Wongsuwan and Pol Gen Issaraphan Sanitwong, both Kowit's deputies. The two then selected six expert members - Pol Lt Gen Chaiyan Maklamthong, Pol Lt Gen Adul Saengsingkaew, Pol Lt Gen Somsak Kwaengsopha, Pol Lt Gen Nukul Jiamanukulkij, Pol Lt Gen Pirom Boonrodphanit and Pol Lt Gen Somsak Bupphasuwan. -- The Nation 2006-09-22 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
