Two motorcyclists killed in collision with cement truck in Nathon Koh Samui



KOH SAMUI: -- This morning Monday 17th of August two motorcyclists were involved in a collision with an eight wheeled cement truck in Nathon.

The accident occurred on the beach road close to the exit ramp of the Seatran Ferry.

It has been reported that CCTV footage shows the two bikes getting caught in between two trucks while overtaking. It is believed that both the lorry and the bikes had arrived in Koh Samui from Donsak, but this has not been confirmed.

The two Thai nationals involved in the collision were both killed at the scene.

The truck has 8 wheels and it is pulling a trailer, hope this helps.

I have seen the CCTV footage showing the actual accident. Totally girls on motorbike fault, they overtook another truck at the T Junction as the cement truck was passing. The gap between the trucks was too small and the motorbike caught the side of the cement truck throwing the girls off. Just two trucks passing each other, was very sad that the girl riding the motorbike made a poor judgement.

Very sad. Two girls about 14 years old, from two local a Samui schools. According to the grapevine they skipped class to hang out together.

Yes,...Cement trucks are paid by the delivery, so ! the more deliveries they make ???? ....on Samui they drive extremely fast to get new deliveries.....

I would make a bet that it was Not the cement truck driver's fault! The stupid boys have no fear and think they are hot-shot drivers! No patience when driving-- have to go as fast as possible and never stay in back of anyone!

I have No sympathy for the boys.
