New Nice Walking Trail On Doi Suthep!

While taking the dog for a walk we planned to go to Montrathan Falls, about a third of the distance to the Doi Suthep temple. But at the gate a surprise... No dogs allowed anymore on weekends. But, the nice park officiette said, if you come in the afternoon then it's alright because then her supervisor will have left... Apparently he got bitten by some dog and has since banned dog visits on weekends.. :-)

Anyway, no problem, we just went a few corners down to where the Phaa Ngoeb falls/rocks/stream is. You can go there for a picknick as well near some rock over-hang, and the dog can run through leaves and then jump in puddles and enjoy herself.

This is where we made a new discovery: There's a very nice, new paved footpath going from Phaa Ngoeb, past Bua Baan waterfall all the way down to Huay Kaew waterfall where the Khru Bar Srivichai shrine is!!! It's a very nice walk along the Huay Kaew stream. It also passes some viewpoint where there's a ruin of some old mini-pagoda (or pile of bricks, however you want to classify it.)

So this is a nice thing to do. The path is paved and excellent, and there even are signs showing the way. (In Thai.)

On the same page you will also see a pic I took of those nice cool new colored disco light fountains we got for Songkran, along with som elephant and flower decrorations. What a beautiful city we live in!! I really love the Tessabaan takes care of Chiang Mai, making it one of the most beautiful cities in Thailand.

Cheers,

Chanchao

My Waterfall is on:-

Now that is a waterfall. Only took me 8 hours and one click to capture this one.

4 hours there and yes you guest it, 4 back and One Click, from Kan Province, Thailand. From BKK add another 2 hours or more.

Would love to see more of your work, but please not signs, unless the are funny ones !!!!

Thank you Khun Chanchao

P.S. Had a look at your site :-

http://chanchao.fotopages.com

yummy yummy :- food for eyes on this forum or any other forum:- and have ate in some places mentioned by you near McDonalds.

Sorry to say, but, (not mentioned by you) Red Loin was the pits this time around (March 15-16th, 2004,) only had tables for 4 persons when we went and we were only 2 persons. Asked us to move to another table (once again to a table for 4 persons as we were only 2) told then to stuff it and sat there and ate. Total Karp food in the end. Next night went to the one that you recommend. Palaya (Khun Thai) had the Pork Knuckle with all the trimmings. Ate every bit of it and gave me a little taste of her food, as Thais’ normally do. Lovely, shame I did not order that for myself.

Great – next time we go there, as The Red Lion next door which, I always had enjoy was Krap this time around.

To :- Red Lion - take the stupid 4 persons per table Reservation OFF, as you only have 3 or 4 tables for 2 persons anyway, which are always FULL …

Red Lion……… Get real………………….

What with the pollution and the Red Lion what is left of Chiang Mai for little old me (one wonders) LOL.

Please check the Red Lion out Chanchoa, just for me, please. True or False ???? about the tables reserved. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok.. actually on this occaision I only had the camera in my phone with me.. This time of year it's not really a waterfall anyway, more like a stream/trickle over rocks with pools along the way. :o

Wow, nice.. Would you consider selling it? ;-)

Have been there several times... Mostly to watch the Formula 1 race when lacking other options. But then mostly by myself and at the bar, and only having a beer. On the occaisions I actually ate there with someone or with a group I do recall there were some issues.. The food comes from next door at the Haus Muenchen anyway doesn't it? (Same ownership) (Haus Muenchen is not as good as the Hofbrauhaus next door)

Anyway I only really post about places that I actually like, or that at least have something special going for them that's interesting and worth mentioning.

Cheers,

Chanchao
