Phnom Penh to Pailin borderr crossing - any updates?

I need to pick up some people coming from Phnom Penh en route from my home in Prachinburi to Koh Chang. To get them at either the Aranyaprathet or Hat Lek crossings would entail 2 hours more r/t travel for me on what is already a long drive so considering having them cross instead at Pailin which looks to be less gthan 30 km from route 371. However, last I heard the road between Battamabng and Pailin, and from Pailin town to the border crossing, was pretty bad.

Does anyone have recent info on this route? And on the ease of getting a taxi straight through from PP to the border crossing? The group includes 2 small children so changing between taxi and minivan for the Pailin-border stretch, and certainly motos for same, preferrably avoided - looking for ease and comfort over cost.

Also: info on the the condition and traffic on best route from 317 to the border, keeping in mind I am coming fro mthe north (so 2 options: 317 to 3193 or get on 3193 further up around Ta mun) and any recommended hotels/guesthouses near the border would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I have done the trip a few times with a motorcycle and road from Battambang to the border crossing at Ban Pakard is in a reasonable condition but Pailin is roughly 30km from the Thai/Cam border so would be best to get a taxi from Battambang.....there is only accommodation on the Cambodia side at the casino but Chanthaburi is only about 80km from there with plenty of options. The turn off to the border is marked on the 317 but the last few k's are not signed where you turn off the 3193......also be careful that you do not go to the Ban Saen check point instead of Ban Pakkard as the are quite close to each other.

I'm looking at going from ban pakard to Phnom Penh, been many times via had lek, this looks shorter mileage but maybe longer time wise? I will be driving there Same as i do to had lek. Is there secured parking there? I can make the whole journey from Pattaya to Phnom Penh via had lek in a day, is it possible via ban pakard?

I once again drove PP  ( left at 8 am) bypassed batt to Pailin ( Pong Nam Ron) and than was in Chantaburi before 5 pm in August last year  easy drive.

I was hassled at the Cambodian border, i had entered at Osmach, so no paperwork to be in Cambodia, had to see the head honcho an he told me that they would not let me into Thailand  ( yea right, there not going to let a thai car in) :-)

asked for $10 to leave Cambodia,I gave him $5 :-)

YOU cant enter Cambodia with Thai car there.... ONLY Hat Lek and Osmach will let a thai car in unless u get all the correct paperwork far in advance
