Thai man dies after trying to cross rickety old bridge in his 6 wheeled truck

Did the bridge have a sign about load rating?. Obviously ignored it if it did.

Do you really think it needed a sign to tell a truck driver not to cross THAT bridge in THAT truck, or that the driver would have taken any more notice of the sign than he did of the guy who advised him against it?

Close to me there's a U-turn under a bridge, it has a sign Max. 2metre high....

About 5 times i've seen a high pickup been stuck under it causing huge traffic jams.

If you buy a driverslicense for 500 baht then how should you know what trafficsigns are?

To be fair I have seen many photos and videos online of buses, trucks and vans etc that have been decapitated by a railway bridge or similar.

But these were all from Europe or the Usa where you would have thought professional drivers have gone through many hoops for their licence, but obviously not under too many low bridges.

Error of judgement and stupidity is not the sole right of Thais, but they do have it fairly fine tuned whilst on the roads.
