Army gets tip-off about bomb attacks in Bangkok

The southern Army said yesterday that it had received a tip-off that teenage Muslim terrorists in Yala were planning to hijack newspaper delivery trucks to use in bomb attacks in Bangkok and, possibly, other big cities.

Maj-General Kwanchart Klaharn, Fourth Army Region deputy commander, said locals had told the Army that terrorists were preparing to hijack newspaper trucks in order to send something to Bangkok.

"The tip-off is possibly correct, because experience has shown us that terrorists pick unexpected targets," said Kwanchart, who divulged the information at a special press conference early in the evening.

He said all security agencies had been alerted to keep a close watch on vehicles heading to Bangkok.

"We would like to thank the people who gave us the tip-off of a terrorist attack," he said.

"I would also like to warn drivers of newspaper delivery trucks to be careful."

Defence Minister Chettha Thanajaro said the government needed to be vigilant against such attacks.

He said checkpoints had been set up on several roads.

The situation is the same in all countries. Some gang of morons trying to scare the rest of the country into submission.

The situation is twice as bad now because it seems a few exremists want the rest of the world to wear beards or veils.

Don't let them into your head.

Stand your ground.

As the saying goes ' You can run but you cannot hide'. :o
