Popular Post kgpr
I have this one down as a common sandpiper
isanbirder
Wood Sandpiper , not Common. Common has more uniform wing-colour, and a distinctive 'shoulder'. Also Wood paddles often, whereas Common prefers the edges of the water.

isanbirder
The picture is not quite clear, but the shoulder effect I mentioned before is distinct, so I would say it's a Common.

Your Barbets are a Lineated and a Coppersmith, though I am guessing you knew that already. And a definite yes on the Common Wood-shrike. I am 90 percent sure the one you have as a possible "rufous winged philentoma" is a juvenile White-rumped Shama.

Popular Post thetefldon
Number 63 on patch list another raptor. Grey-faced Buzzard or to be precise about 20 of them over the house on 6 November. Been a good couple of months for raptors and this Shikra has been hanging around too.

Accipiters are notoriously hard, and while I saw this pic ID's eslewhere as Jov Shikra and agree that's probably right based on "Grey cheeks" and brown crown and etc., note that Robson has Juv. Shikra with "five black bands on upper tail." This bird seems to have fewer. Do you have any more pics where the tail can be seen better from the very bottom. I'm curious/dubious.

Yes I did post it there and while I am a beginer in the ID stakes(and appreciate all help) I too noted the tail bars, there are 4, which in Robson would point to possible Chinese. A couple more images, these are not processed but do show markings a bit more. Unfortunately while I had a fairly close view of the bird it was mostly side on!
