Timbob
A family member has asked me (since I live in Thailand) about the dates of a typical school year in Thailand. I'm not sure why, but it's something to do with an educational app / IT project. I'm struggling to find an answer so I was hoping someone here would know the following.... The academic calendar dates for a main university and a typical public secondary school in Thailand. Thanks in advance.
allane
In general: Elementary and High Schools - Academic Year starts approx. May 21 for public schools, usually 2 - 3 weeks earlier for private schools. - There is a midterm vacation of approx. 9 days at the end of Oct. - Second term starts approx. Nov. 1, and ends approx. Mar. 31. Post-Secondary - generally the same as the above, with a slightly later start; approx. June 1. The above generally reflects the academic year for teachers. Students usually start one or two days later, and finish a week or so earlier, in late March. International schools normally follow the calendar of schools in the country to which they are affiliated.
