JICA to send experts to help Thai civil aviation

BANGKOK, 21 April 2016 (NNT) - The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will send experts to Thailand to give advice on the improvement of Thai civil aviation standards in line with the standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

Minister of Transport Arkhom Termpittayapaisith said the Thai Department of Civil Aviation collaborated JICA to improve the regulation of safety in the the Thai aviation business. They will work together for two years and five months, starting from April 2016 to September 2018.

The JICA experts' consultancy will focus on the improvement of safety standards for airworthiness and mandatory safety reporting.

Thailand hopes that its aviation will be accepted by the international community more and it will better conform to standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization.

Thailand's solutions to its aviation problems were proceeding as planned, said the minister. He expressed his confidence that a report on Thailand's progress would be submitted to ICAO early 2017.

A step in the right direction , I feel sorry for the Japanese trying to get a point of view across , however something is better than nothing, and just goes to show if you cut yourself off from the international community because we are Thai and we know best, you will fall far behind in what's new in the world of aviation or anything else for that matter. including education..............................................coffee1.gif

Why send experts to help Thailands civil aviation?

Thais will not listen, not admit they need help.

Somchai cannot lose face.

True,Japan spends "money" from the treasury and private funds to improve their aviation programs and airports. The Thai government will not spend any real money unless someone in getting a payoff and even then they will take the Thai way through shortcuts and lies(Thaksin Quote"The new airport is now completed and ready to open")
