bigbadthaijohn
Hi all, Quick question. My organization has just registered a new branch in another province. We want to move a few of our employees to the new location. Does anyone know what the procedure is to move the location in the work permits? lostinisaan
You don't move the location in the work permits. You/They'll have to apply for a new work permit at the DoL in the province where you'll/ they'll be working.
bigbadthaijohn
Even though they are working at the same organization? And if they do need to get new WPs, do they have to pay for them even if the existing WPs are still valid for many months? ubonjoe
It is possible to add a 2nd work location on a work permit but it is only meant for the employee to work there on a short term basis. For a permanent transfer a new work permit would need to be applied for in the province where they are working. After the new one is issued the old one would need to be canceled. For the transition the new location could be put on the existing work permit until the new one was issued. You would have to pay for the new work permits.
