joinme2leave
looking forward to read about your first hand experience in Pattaya golf. 1) best place(s) to play (by means of: difficulty, nice environment, good clubhouse) 2) places with close-to-zero german players (wanna avoid 'em if possible) 3) average greenfee rates (jan/feb/mar) 4) places within reach by using public transportation or short-distance taxi drive thanks! COBBER
A good idea would be to join Pattaya Sports Club. They will give you a price list and map of all courses in the area and you will get considerable discounts off the green fees at all courses. Generally the Caddie fee is around 200 baht + a tip of 200-300 and Carts are around 600. 1 player per cart at St. Andrews,Green valley & Laem Chabang. The others you can share a cart. The Best ( with approx. weekday green fees ) St. Andrews 2000 Laem Chabang 2500 Also very good Pheonix 1400 Eastern Star 1200 Burapha 2000 Khao Kheow 1000 Green Valley 1000 Crystal Bay 1500 Mountain Shadow 1500 Sri Racha 1100 If transport is a problem there are half a dozen or so bars that have weekly golf days where they provide the transport. Also there are Golf Tour Agents that will organise everything for you. The closest courses are Pheonix and Siam. Siam is closed for rennovations ,re-openning early next year and indications are that it will be fairly up market. All of these couses are OK for the average social golfer. Some may have a couple of testing holes ,but not to the point where you are not going to enjoy your round. Happy Golfing
expatgaz
Some of my favourites around Pattaya. Green Valley - Superb but always full, mainly Koreans. New Favourite - Noble PLace,Great course, not so busy if you go early and a very playable course. The Koreans seem to be getting here also.Is there any course where they don't go ?? Keow Keow - Superb,a little pricier but a fantastic course.Better than Laem Chabang.
