webfact Posted June 14, 2016 Share Posted June 14, 2016 IHS Jane’s claims Burmese army has armed dronesYANGON: -- The Burmese army has deployed armed drones in ethnic minority regions in northern Burma like for surveillance and surgical strikes, Anthony Davis, a Bangkok-based security expert who writes for IHS Jane’s told The Irrawaddy.HIS said one or more Chinese-made CH-3A drones, with the capacity to carry missiles and satellite-guided bombs, have been deployed from an airfield, likely Lashio in Shan State or Bhamo in southeastern Kachin state.Shan State’s Kokang army was in protracted armed conflict with the Burmese army last year during which time the government army conducted airstrikes against the Kokang army’s bases.Davis said that the armed drones could play an important role in gathering intelligence “as we have see in the Pakistani tribal areas, they can be lethally effective in surgical strikes against insurgent command centres – provided there is adequate intelligence on the ground level on which to base the targets”.The HIS confirmed the deployment of the Chinese drones after a picture, believed to be taken by a serviceman, was posted on Facebook. China's plans to kill a drug dealer in another country with an unmanned drone. What is the embarrassing difference between the Chinese and American drones strike programs?
