British tourist claims she was sexually assaulted in Chiang Mai guesthouse

CHIANG MAI:-- Police are investigating the claims made by a British woman who says she was sexually assaulted as she slept in a Chiang Mai guesthouse.

The unnamed woman told police how she was sleeping naked next to her boyfriend, who is also believed to be British, when she was woken up by a male employee of the guesthouse who had entered their room, got into bed and began touching her.

Upon waking, the woman screamed and her boyfriend fought off the Thai man before the police were called, Sanook News reported.

During questioning the woman told officers that earlier in the day she had hugged the accused to say thank you for helping her locate a power socket.

When questioned, the 32 year old hotel clerk denied the accusations made against him, and told police a different version of events.

He said that he had heard a loud noise coming from the room of the British couple and went to investigate. He claimed he entered the room and saw the woman sleeping naked as he stood over her next to the bed. However, he said he didn’t get into bed and this was when the woman woman woke up.

The report didn’t name the guesthouse or any of those involved.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.

I think this is not and should not be the issue. You may have the word UGLY painted on you or Sexy painted on me (joke boys joking calm down) BUT the real issue is

Why did the EMPLOYEE venture into a room where he heard noises when this was a PAID room and privacy should be assured at ALL TIMES.

What about a KNOCK on the door?

I would be VERY defensive if this happened to me. Violent even depending on the circumstance

Have things changed in Farangland and they are all hugging each other? Which I doubt.

Or is it some weird behaviour pattern only assumed in Thailand, and in particular by overweight white females?

Seriously, I see it quite often, waitresses, maids, tour guides, hotel staff all get subjected to the embrace. Maybe somebody should point out to these idiots

1. It is not considered polite.

2. It is not wanted.

3. It is well outside of Thai culture.

4. It gives off the wrong signals.

Really to give a male hotel employee a hug for pointing out an electrical socket, the F7c514g tw4t. Must be well retarded too, how much wall space is there to search?

It went downhill when the perv entered her private room. Are you suggesting because she hugged him that she is to blame for the Thai guys actions?

BTW, how do you know what she was wearing when she hugged him?

Yeah likely story! There's a shortage of beautiful, available women in Chang Mai. Thai men really want overweight - badly dressed British birds.

You'd be surprised. Plus this guy probably thought all Western women are "easy", which started with the "free hug" he got.
