Thailand has sweet basil and holy basil. I doubt you would be able to tell the difference between Thai sweet basil and Western sweet basil. Thousands of recipes call for seeding tomatoes. I imagine it's a class thing. Our maids and gardeners always ate the seeds while the folks in the main house did not. Depends on how you were raised. It creates a tomato without seeds used in most upscale cuisines. Most cultures have at least two styles of cooking. Classical and provincial. Seeded tomatoes are used in the classical style.
