30 Year-Old Australian Man Found Dead in Phuket Dormitory

PHUKET – Police in Phuket have revealed to the press that a 30-year-old Australian tourist was found dead inside a room in Muang district on Wednesday morning.


The man was found lying face-up on a bed inside the room on the second floor of a dormitory in tambon Rawai when Pol Lt Chanat Hongsittichaikul, deputy investigation chief at Chalong police station, and officers arrived. His name is being withheld until his relatives are informed.

The incident was reported at about 10am on Wednesday, Manager Online said. The man was wearing only black trousers and there were no signs of a struggle in the room, police said.

PHUKET: Police have yet to confirm the cause of death of an Australian tourist who was found dead in a rented room in Rawai yesterday (July 20).

Police arrived at the scene with Ruamjai Kupai rescue workers and were led to a second floor apartment where the man’s body had been found. Police said there was a foul smell coming from the room.

Using a spare key, police opened the room and found the 30-year-old Australian national (name withheld until his family have been informed) lying shirtless on the bed with traces of blood coming from his mouth.

Lt Chanat explained: “We found some traces of blood on the sheet, there was also a syringe and variety of medication in the room.

Any drugs or needles laying about ?

Police said there were no signs of a struggle,this is the common line in every foreign death reported in the news by Thai Police in LOS, it must be a std form they fill out and give to the press.
