Disgusting! Thais online pass judgment on foreigners' lewd behaviour on Koh Phi Phi

As a Brit living in Thailand, I find it astonishing any adult Westerner would attempt to condone the appalling and offensive behavior of this young couple, irrespective of whether they were drunk or sober.

Contrary to what some posters claim, having sex in a public place is unlawful across the world - and certainly in Greece where friends of mine were actually arrested and imprisoned on Crete for daring to sunbathe without clothes.]

If there are countries where having sex in the street is considered normal I would like to know where they are, so I can ensure my family and I never end up in such godforsaken places.

Meanwhile,those of you who believe it is acceptable to inflict your "anything goes" attitudes on the indigenous populations of any country in which you are a guest should consider getting the next plane home.

The most disgusting thing about the video isn't the lewd aspect but the sense of entitlement that the American girl shows towards the Thais. At least the American man was apologetic.

Interesting opinion ...except that the woman giving the BJ didn't say she was an American ...another woman in the background, maybe the one holding the camera, said "AMERICA" in answer to the question "Where you from" ....

I vaguely remember a drunk spring break in 1990 where 20 colleges all met for a week...

yea, get that on your iphone... NOT.

Why are people feel offended by sex ? We all like to do it, we all like to see it , it is natural behaviour, but we have to hide it. We do it ourselfs, but if you see someone else doing it , it's discusting, should be jailed or banned ... is that not all a bit hypocryt ?

There are places where people and childeren all are naked (nudists) there are tribes were people have sex in same room with there childeren, are they traumatised ? is this discusting ? should they be jailed ?

some country (let say this one) it is lewd behaviour when a men kiss his wife in public, some countries the woman have to be completely covered ... is this what we want ?

I mean it is al about culture, or behaviour we are used to, maybe we should be a little bit less hypocryt.

Usually when Thais come across such behaviour rape and murder sometimes follows .....therefore they were lucky ....if indeed they made it home ..

The Thai media however knows that these things outrages the Thai populace, because of course they have been told to be outraged. They have been told this disrespects Thailand. As such you really cannot blame them for anything they do to Farangs after you see that those farangs disrespecting Thailand.

Works really good with the Thai system of morality to justify all things done and to not have to be concerned if tourists get stomped and killed on a regular basis. They deserved it NATCH ! thumbsup.gif

Jail them? They're just young fools probably intoxicated and making a foolish mistake.

Just because you've never had the oppurtunity to even go close to finding yourself in this position you should keep your extremely harsh judgment to yourself

Well, it was obviously the man's fault; he was flaunting his manly bulge and the poor girl couldn't help herself.

My opinion is far from this. I just belief a drunken, youthful misguided adventure should be the end of the world as we know it.

I'm by no means a Thai basher and I am more than happy to applaud their money making industries but, as a poster said earlier, when a bar around the corner has young girls selling sex for as little as 500thb and, as we saw during songkran, a model aged man putting his mouth on a lady's baby maker EVERYONE'S sense of right and wrong gets skewed a little.

Do the Thais in the video go and stand at beer bars or agogos screeching at the girls to put their clothes on and stop selling their Jim? One would say no.

The most disturbing thing about that video was the aggressive behavior of the Thai guy.

I don't think he is Thai. I think he is quite possibly Nigerian, attempting to 'clean-up' an unfortunate situation. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

Xenophobic and Nationalistic propaganda only gains a better footing by showing off the shameless westerners .

The military government has looked for critical observation ( even in rape/murder cases involving a western female) of attire and inferred morality.

Recent announcements of closing down the sex trade and now this highlight a shift in perception .

We can now be perceived as unwholesome .

Even educated Thais who haven't left Thailand consider western woman cheap and nasty whores. ( in general)

This will just help the government next we are critical of them.

We are after all devils .

Returning the happiness to the people might equate sweeping us up and out eventually.?

Certainly violence against us is on the rise .

Cases closed fast.

This lewd act is widely seen as representative and indicative of all westerners.

Thais wouldn't wear a bikini after all .

And Thais don't engage in acts of sex like that.

This is the thinking.

At every stage

Superior morals

Superior minds and hearts .

It's a delusion that's reinforced in every vein coursing Thai blood.

We don't understand Thainess.

The fact the 21st century is crashing in like a tsunami around them doesn't matter.

Until the death will they be confirming in their own minds their superior morals by such acts as two kids smashed out on alcohol ( not served responsibly ) and on holiday doing something stupid.

Half the people online name calling us are most likely buying food with the ill earned gains of their daughters wired money into their account.

Isn't it ironic ?

But alas we dare not accuse the Thais of harbouring organised prostitution on a grand level ...

At least those kids were not doing their act for purposes of gain.

As bad as they were.

It's calling the kettle black coming from Thais .

It should be seen as a careless act where they the kids are fined and deported .

I also notice that the foreigner can do no wrong or hold responsibility in your eyes for their actions. This was obviously induced by others:

You really need to get a grip! This sort of things happen and there really isn't a darn thing you can do about it except turn a blind eye or become a voyeur. I take from your reply that if your family was with you that you would be doing the same as the others in the background of the vdo clip. Watching and yelling at them instead of just walying away. I don't know who has the sickest mind. The ones who got drunk and did the deed or the ones standing there watching and recording it. Of course I am sure you NEVER has sex in anywhere except the bedroom as well.

If it were done on a sidewalk in Miami beach the police would arrest the pair and the two would have the label 'sex offender' for life.

That does not happen with mutual consent.

I dont think the Thai guy was aggressive at all. The Westerner is lucky he didnt get kicked........The Thai could have brought this to others and it would have been a real shitstorm.

One day i was in a grouptour doing a roundtrip on Java/Bali.

When our group of 25 entered our new resort for that day the guide showed us the pool and the shhh shhh shhhowerrr where a couple of naked westerners were having sex at that moment.

Suddenly there came 25 people around the corner who were all watching them and just stayed there for a while to see their pool. They stood 2 metres away from us whistling.gifwhistling.gif

Anyone who cannot see how this type of thing is contributing directly to the rapid deterioration in the general attitudes that Thai have toward farang, and the predictable increase in seemingly (to idiots) 'random acts of aggression,' needs to have his/her/its head examined. There are still many older, reserved and respectable Thai out and about, and some maintain positions of power accompanied by well-deserved grudges. This is not ever going to wash with them. I don't give a damn what may or may not be going on in the bars. That has no bearing on this conversation. This is absolutely the wrong culture for this sh*t, period, and we are kidding ourselves if we think our lives are not about to get much more difficult as a consequence of this act. Either officially, or unofficially, every freaking farang pays for this degree of stupidity. For those of us not cocooned away in some back-soi bar, or insulated by a Lao Khao induced stupor, this ought not be welcomed news.
