Absolutely deplorable.... They filmed it for Christs sake!

So now no need for a re enactment!

On a more serious note... Why doesn't stuff like that "go down" on me.... I mean... When I have my iPhone handy, and all. ?

Yes it was dumb but if it was on Miami Beach or a Greek island would we thing twice NO

If it were done on a sidewalk in Miami beach the police would arrest the pair and the two would have the label 'sex offender' for life.

That does not happen with mutual consent.

Yes it does ! Gross Public Indecency gets you on the sex offenders register the same as kiddy fiddling

That type of statement would really need supporting evidence.

Especially if it had been done near a school in Miami Beach...probably a felony in Florida these days.

Maybe the Thai men were jealous of the well endowed foreigner.

Or perhaps they had never seen a foreigner having consensual sex without having to pay.

Or perhaps she didn't have a work permit and he didn't pay the appropriate bar bribe... You can't be depriving the locals of the food from their mouths. ???

But seriously... Absolutely wrong place to engage in this dispicable behavior... They should have come round here, and I would have made them a quality video for their Thai dream memory albums.... For free

Anyone who cannot see how this type of thing is contributing directly to the rapid deterioration in the general attitudes that Thai have toward farang, and the predictable increase in seemingly (to idiots) 'random acts of aggression,' needs to have his/her/its head examined. There are still many older, reserved and respectable Thai out and about, and some maintain positions of power accompanied by well-deserved grudges. This is not ever going to wash with them. I don't give a damn what may or may not be going on in the bars. That has no bearing on this conversation. This is absolutely the wrong culture for this sh*t, period, and we are kidding ourselves if we think our lives are not about to get much more difficult as a consequence of this act. Either officially, or unofficially, every freaking farang pays for this degree of stupidity. For those of us not cocooned away in some back-soi bar, or insulated by a Lao Khao induced stupor, this ought not be welcomed news.

Thailand leads the world in marital infidelity, use of prostitutes by men, and hypocrisy. Thai wives prefer their husbands to have uncomplicated sex with a prostitute as they perceive the alternative - having a relationship with a Mia Noi to be more threatening to their position.

When it comes to throwing stones at Foreigners sexual habits they live in glass houses, those who have achieved positions of power probably more than most as positions of power are very attractive to potential Mia Noi s..

This was not a particularly discreet act - but to imagine it will have any affect on the way Thais view foreigners is lending it an importance it doesn't deserve.

As a Brit living in Thailand, I find it astonishing any adult Westerner would attempt to condone the appalling and offensive behavior of this young couple, irrespective of whether they were drunk or sober.

Contrary to what some posters claim, having sex in a public place is unlawful across the world - and certainly in Greece where friends of mine were actually arrested and imprisoned on Crete for daring to sunbathe without clothes.]

If there are countries where having sex in the street is considered normal I would like to know where they are, so I can ensure my family and I never end up in such godforsaken places.

Meanwhile, those of you who believe it is acceptable to inflict your "anything goes" attitudes on the indigenous populations of any country in which you are a guest should consider getting the next plane home.

When in Rome. . .

My opinion is far from this. I just belief a drunken, youthful misguided adventure should be the end of the world as we know it.

I'm by no means a Thai basher and I am more than happy to applaud their money making industries but, as a poster said earlier, when a bar around the corner has young girls selling sex for as little as 500thb and, as we saw during songkran, a model aged man putting his mouth on a lady's baby maker EVERYONE'S sense of right and wrong gets skewed a little.

Do the Thais in the video go and stand at beer bars or agogos screeching at the girls to put their clothes on and stop selling their Jim? One would say no.

Clearly, you are no follower of Islam, as your avatar might lead one to believe - otherwise you would not be attempting to defend the indefensible.

Your comment on this being a "drunken, youthful misguided adventure" is typical of an increasingly large section of society which seems to think alcohol provides an excuse for otherwise inexcusable behaviour. It doesn't.

The fact that so many people choose to ignore this obviously sensible advice is reflected in the huge amount of crimes involving sex and violence where alcohol is a factor.

If you can't hold your liquor without turning into a mindless, moronic animal with scant regard for anyone else but yourself, then don't drink.

Two foreigners claiming to be from America and Ireland were caught outside The Hussin House Hotel on Phi Phi Island engaging in drunken oral sex.

The video has invoked wrath among Thai netizens and is generating a huge amount of comment online, suggesting the pair of travelers were drunk, high on drugs or possibly both.

Bystanders shouted at them to stop before a Jamacian tourist intervened.

The Irishman attempts a wai by way of apology as his American friend appears barely able to stand.

I always thought the Thai people were so sensitive to the F word, though that isn't obvious from the vocabulary of the Thai guy in the video.

My guess is that they are only sensitive to it when it is used against them, but not the other way around, as usual.

Wow! Two random people behaving like idiots, while on holiday!

Stop the press!

Forget about all the minor problems the country has and point fingers at farang!

Exciting!

But he said "sorry".So what?

Seems to work for Thais who kill and steal... Sorry sorry and a wai... See ya later.. Here's your gun back.

But seriously.... Is everyone forgetting that this happened on koh phi phi.... Know around the world for full on drunken, alcohol fueled, sex on the beach parties... Encouraged and supported by the locals... having ones cake and eating it too ?

And the drunken girl, unable to stand... Champion... She got on with it in a more stable and supported squat position ?

Thai people rarely use the F word- there are other words in Thai that they use which have a similar meaning- but only when angry. The Thai man in the video, if indeed Thai- has an unusual English accent- sounds almost German- and his Thai language skills seem rather poor or accented Thai from another area. Certainly not Central Thai. I am not really sure he is Thai but if he is- he has worked around tourists a long time- that is why he can use tourist slang and vulgarity. The Thais learn so much from tourists- don't they?

This incident will not change the way Thais see foreigners, but it reinforces the general idea that foreigners are immoral and lacking in any respect for Thailand.I can remember the time when most Thais held foreigners in high regard and respect and thought all foreigners were highly educated and to be admired. Mass tourism and cheap airfare have brought the World's worst to Thailand and have embarrassed all nationalities. I have to constantly explain to Thai people that not everyone is like this.

It does not matter what happens behind closed doors in bars, karoake lounges, GoGo joints or massage parlors. People in Thailand do not have sex in public view. Most Thais would never be seen in a bikini. This is Thailand and when you visit or live here- you must respect Thai sensibilities. This type of behaviour by these 2 people is illegal anywhere in the World. The fact that they are 'young' does not excuse bad behavior. I do not think they should be put in jail but I do think they should be arrested; pay a fine that hurts their budget; their embassy notified; and put on a plane back to whence they come from. In that way, they will understand that their behavior will never be tolerated and it sends a message out to the World community that one does not do this in Thailand.

Xenophobic and Nationalistic propaganda only gains a better footing by showing off the shameless westerners .

The military government has looked for critical observation ( even in rape/murder cases involving a western female) of attire and inferred morality.

Recent announcements of closing down the sex trade and now this highlight a shift in perception .

We can now be perceived as unwholesome .

Even educated Thais who haven't left Thailand consider western woman cheap and nasty whores. ( in general)

This will just help the government next we are critical of them.

We are after all devils .

Returning the happiness to the people might equate sweeping us up and out eventually.?

Certainly violence against us is on the rise .

Cases closed fast.

This lewd act is widely seen as representative and indicative of all westerners.

Thais wouldn't wear a bikini after all .

And Thais don't engage in acts of sex like that.

This is the thinking.

At every stage

Superior morals

Superior minds and hearts .

It's a delusion that's reinforced in every vein coursing Thai blood.

We don't understand Thainess.

The fact the 21st century is crashing in like a tsunami around them doesn't matter.

Until the death will they be confirming in their own minds their superior morals by such acts as two kids smashed out on alcohol ( not served responsibly ) and on holiday doing something stupid.

Half the people online name calling us are most likely buying food with the ill earned gains of their daughters wired money into their account.

Isn't it ironic ?

But alas we dare not accuse the Thais of harbouring organised prostitution on a grand level ...

At least those kids were not doing their act for purposes of gain.

As bad as they were.

It's calling the kettle black coming from Thais .

It should be seen as a careless act where they the kids are fined and deported .

However not tarnish us all.

So you think it is OK for this to happen, that it is only the Thais that are offended seeing something like this in public? What if a family was passing when this was going on? Grandma & Grandpa out for a stroll?

I also notice that the foreigner can do no wrong or hold responsibility in your eyes for their actions. This was obviously induced by others:

".......in their own minds their superior morals by such acts as two kids smashed out on alcohol ( not served responsibly )........"

Get a grip buddy...........................blink.png

Edit: And no, I'm not an old fogey and i have a very open mind as well........................wink.png

You really need to get a grip! This sort of things happen and there really isn't a darn thing you can do about it except turn a blind eye or become a voyeur. I take from your reply that if your family was with you that you would be doing the same as the others in the background of the vdo clip. Watching and yelling at them instead of just walying away. I don't know who has the sickest mind. The ones who got drunk and did the deed or the ones standing there watching and recording it. Of course I am sure you NEVER has sex in anywhere except the bedroom as well.
Wow!
The keynote of the OP is not if this happens or not, but if it is deemed 'disgusting' given that the location was "a public street on the holiday island of Koh Phi Phi". In my mind, taking into account that it is a tourist area, yes it was. My opinion, yours may be different.
My response was really to what I read from the previous poster with regards to blaming the Thais for people drinking to much, hence the 'get a grip'.
As for taking a video of something like this, I never have and I never will, thats just not me. And yes, I would just keep on walking.
Oh and as for having sex outside of a bedroom, most certainly, but never flaunting it in public. Again, not me.

OMG did the person who posted this online ruin the image of thialnad?

they should be arrested. actually they can be. why not?

I believe in freedom of choices.

I also believe in the consequences.

If you cheat consequences. Like thais always do. you cheat others freedom of choice. and people will go else where.

I know of several high end brothels who have set up WIRELESS cameras inside. Im sure somewhere someone gets what im getting at. the got gotta get got.

The Thai media however knows that these things outrages the Thai populace, because of course they have been told to be outraged. They have been told this disrespects Thailand. As such you really cannot blame them for anything they do to Farangs after you see that those farangs disrespecting Thailand.

Works really good with the Thai system of morality to justify all things done and to not have to be concerned if tourists get stomped and killed on a regular basis. They deserved it NATCH ! thumbsup.gif

So you condone this?

One fact about how many of us view this is that many of us have lived in Thailand a long time and not seen the changes relating to sex that have happened back in the western world. I just want to say this because it's pretty clear from the media that is available that the west is much different than when I came to Asia. I haven't been back there for years now. From the net, I can see that gays have more freedom, porn seems to be made everywhere in the states now, there are many online sex apps and women have become much more open about their own sexuality. It wasn't this way just 15 years ago. Some of the younger people who comment might not see this act on the beach in Thailand as wrong because they don't know Thailand well and when the older posters here comment they fail to see that many older folks didn't grow up in the world they know. Just wanted to note this age/experience difference. As the US has jumped forward, Thailand has kept its traditions too. Thailand still is conservative with the exception of nightlife areas which still don't accept acts like these two did on their streets.
