[CLIP] Foreign college exchange students fined for filmed drunken public oral sex on Phi Phi

KRABI: An American girl and Irish man wanted by police in three provinces for being caught on camera engaging in public oral sex on Koh Phi Phi last week, have turned themselves in, issued a public apology and each been fined B2,000.

At 11am on Sunday (July 24) Krabi Police held a press conference, presenting the two suspects, named as Nadine, 21, from the US, and Sullivan, 24, from Ireland [names transliterated from Thai report].

Police in Krabi, Surat Thani and Chiang Mai were reportedly working together to track down the two foreigners, who had been featured in a video clip that had been uploaded to Youtube by an "enraged resident", who had reported that the incident took place at 7.30pm on July 18 on Koh Phi Phi.

Upon learning that they were wanted by police, the American woman and Irish man – both said to be exchange students at an unnamed university in Chiang Mai – immediately returned to Krabi to turn themselves in and answer to charges of indecent exposure, and commiting an incdecent act in public.

WARNING: The following clip is inappropriate for immature and underage audiences. Viewer discretion is advised.

A couple of college kids exercised a moment of indiscretion...hardly the first time in history.

Lesson learned.

Hardly worth all the attention it has received.

I wouldn't be surprised if that one Thai local who was so aggressive does not one day appear in a similar photo seated in front of numerous Police...he most definitely displayed a high level of hostility. Maybe a future tuk-tuk driver?

It looks as though they were given the absolute minimum with respect to the offense (2,000 baht)... but they should still have been deported and banned from re-entering Thailand since it was still a criminal offense I believe.

There was a time when Thai men will say, You, you, now there's an added bonus with the <deleted> you man over and over

again, to me, the vulgarity of the Thai guy is much worse than what those kid did, which is still wrong.....

they could have shooed away nicely, not need for more obscenities and profanities.....

This is unbelievable !! 2000baht fine, is a joke.

Public indecency to say the least, as i posted before they should be jailed.

Jailed then deported banned from returning.

Just another case of crazy Thai justice.

He started out trying to shoo them away but the reaction from the man being serviced was to swear at him and challenge him back -- and to back down completely would have been a lose of face... The person that first uttered obscenities was the foreigner -- so responding back in kind is warranted.

Why do not they punish the Thai moron who insult the young farang in the video.

Not hard to figure that one out.......he's Thai. Plus I don't think he actually committed an offense. I think the Irish guy was lucky the Thai guy and a bunch of his friends didn't get more aggressively involved.

That was not what I recall in the video but I might be mistaken.

Any chance you have the clip handy?

Ah...thanks.

I just watched it sgsin and it sure looks like the aggressive guy was the first to use any profanity when he told the Irishman to <deleted> at 00:32 seconds into the clip.

The Irishman and the amorous young lady were in no way aggressive towards anyone.

Sorry, but I find the utterance of the "F" word is itself aggressive behavior. He is lucky he did not do it to the wrong Thai or he would be lying on the ground as other Thais pummeled the crap out of him.
