webfact
"Bomb" discovered as Cha-Am station area closed in Sunday drama Image Daily News CHA-AM: -- Bomb disposal experts were called to the area in front of Cha-Am station on Sunday morning after a motorcycle taxi driver found a suspect device. But it turned out to be a hoax. Chalem Taengthong, 64, saw the item that looked very much like an improvised bomb at the foot of a Bo tree. An EOD bomb busting unit from the Naretworn Camp were swiftly on the scene and the area was cordoned off by police as they got to work. The package was a 30cm tube wrapped in yellow plastic and tin foil connected to a black box. There were adjoining wires and a wristwatch face. The bomb disposal team used a high pressure water hose to neutralize the device. It was a hoax device. It contained only a bunch of torch batteries. It was taken away for detailed examination and fingerprinting in an effort to discover who had left it at the base of the tree.
