Instead of saying "I commit adultery", it's so cool to say "she is my gik". Likewise, the term "faen" can mean b/f or g/f or gik or husband. The idea is to blur the line between marriage and cohabitation. When you know you cannot meet the standard, the best way is not to work hard to meet the standard.
