Sounds like they did everything they could for the deceased.

His number was just up.

An 18-year old boat captain? Family business?

Could be, maybe check on the koh lanta forum.

Another drowning of a Chinese tourist. The high death toll in the waters of Thailand of these citizens should be of great concern to both countries.

The tour boat originated in Koh Lanta, the incident occurred in Pang Nga waters, the only link to Phuket is the location of the media reporting the incident.

This should be transferred to the appropriate local forum - Krabi.

...they don't mention anyone performing CPR....???

The full article states efforts were made.

contrary to some posts above, this man did not drown.

He was wearinga life jacket and suffered a separate health issue.

I would stake my license to practice medicine on it.

They are not captains.

They are tuktuk drivers on water.

Isn't it possible that he attempted to snorkel and choked on water?

There is a story about a Chinese tourist in ICU a few weeks ago who had exactly that happen to him, because nobody showed him how a snorkel works.  Apparently they just throw all those tourists who can't swim and never snorkeled into the ocean with no guidance or help ...well until 10 people find a "drowned man and call the crew" who are still in the boat?
