PATTAYA: -- On August 29 Pattaya One reported that a man, claiming to be a policeman, was on the run after being charged with the rape of a seventeen-year-old maid.

Yesterday evening it was reported that officers had now traced forty-nine-year old Mr. Supan (aka Jo) Phanburi to a resort in Klaeng, Rayong and he has been arrested.

The police had been tracking him as he was moving from hotel to hotel and eventually he was trapped.

"BANGKOK:-- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha has issued a directive for the police that, from now on, suspects arrested by the police or the military must not be presented before the media at a press conference as such act amounts to a violation of human rights."

Thanks BBG but I hope to dear god they don't actually follow through on this idea.

One of the best parts of the morning news is seeing photos of the bad guy with police and evidence and a "pointing" victim.

In a land where justice is a commodity, applying Western principles don't work.

Napoleonic Law works better in these environments.

Great, well done RTB.But unfortunately, thats the last we will hear of it.No trial details,no plead,no verdict and no sentence result.

So the pervert could quietly walk away ,nursing his slapped wrist and feeling hard done by having to pay 500 baht, and continue on his merry life of sexual abuse of women.

He said in the article that he did often claim to be a policeman but he had committed no crime. So impersonating a policeman isn't a crime? He might be wrong on that, but then so many people wear t-shirts or caps with police on it, or put on police stickers on their vehicles. so who knows.
