BANGKOK: -- Following the raid on a Kaset-Nawamin pub earlier in the evening a party of 100 police and soldiers moved on to a popular pub in the Ram Inthra area of Bangkok.

They found illegal activity at the "Rong Na Isaan" nightclub in the Kannawa area of the city, reported Daily News

There were four girls under the age of 20 among the party goers and one youth under 18. Twenty seven others did not have Thai ID.

The raiding party shut the establishment for five years on the spot and laid many other charges including operating without a license, selling alcohol after permitted hours, advertising the sale of alcohol and selling booze to minors.

Officials in the raid urged members of the public to report illegal establishments as the raids continue.

I think at last count there was six thousand golf courses operating in China without a licence , so what's a few unlicensed pubs in Thailand to worry about , seriously , there is just too much of this happening right throughout Asia,  generally a fire brings it all out , however if the police were doing there job they should know who is on their patch................................................:coffee1:

Only 5, last week went to pick up 16 year old (step daughter) from a pub and apart from the staff all were under 18 and the alcohol was flowing freely.  This particular pub had been closed down before but has re opened after renovations.

So the raiding party closed the establishment for five years 'on the spot' so no due process, no possibility of appeal. Who the hell are the raiding party, yes, police and soldiers, but where do their rights end?? Even with this so called government, surely there are courts to deal with this.

I guess you missed the sticky note stating that Banana Man gave the military the power to do as they see fit...? They can do whatever they want, at any time. That includes stopping people on the street and arresting them, should they appear to be of questionable character.  Yes, it's true.
