Three were saved by another group of tourists but a 25 year old Chonburi woman was found 300-400 meters away in the branches of a tree. Benjamas Yortwilai of Saen Suk sub- district was dead at the scene, reports Daily News. Such was the force of the water that her clothes had been ripped off. The four friends had set out from Bang Saen earlier in the day for a trip to the Chantaten Bang Pra waterfall. When they had been swimming for about half an hour the water suddenly started to turn a muddy brown. They rushed to get out of the water but the flood surprised them and they got caught. A nearby group of tourists managed to save three of them but the fourth was washed away. The area is a wildlife protection zone. Chief of the zone Amnuay Trakunsuphachai said that there had only been very light rain and everything seemed normal. The flood came very fast and rangers were unable to help in time. He said that the flash flood may have been caused by logs, damming up a body of water further up the river, suddenly becoming loose.
