" Morita was angry that a court had found in favor of his Thai wife over the house, land and other property after their marriage ended "

He obviously was not a TV member, then......

Told my wife before we married that one way or another she will not have the opportunity to enjoy anything I have worked for if she does me wrong.

And they say romance is dead!

Yeah! That man should never go to a casino, and he managed to miss 2 time. LOL
However I feel happy that she survived, because as you build you have to loose.

When I saw you'd quoted me, I thought you may be a do gooder condemning me for my uncaring, insensitive post, but we're on the same page.

We may be brothers??

"...this is not justice...it is injustice...."  Well you're right about that, shooting an ex-wife because you don't agree with a courts decision is not justice.

"...and it's time for the foreign governments to speak up....."   About what, a legal decision made in another country's courts?

Thankfully we have TV to keep us advised of all the terrible things that go on in Thailand, and how to avoid the pitfalls.

Regarding Thai wives; there are countless stories of cunning wives who are only after your money. There are good and bad people everywhere. Probably the best advice i can offer is dont get married until you really know your partner; at least 6 years. There are alot of good people out there too. Inverably getting married means taking on your partners problems; ensure there isnt any!

Best plan is to not give it up in the first place instead of fking up your own life when it all goes bad because you're the idiot that gave it all away...

If we have not learned about the pain and financial loss by now of a divorce we deserved to pay the piper. It looks like this guy may have got the dirty end of the stick in the settlement but then he was a foreigner so why expect anything different. Again it all boils down as to how much do we want to trust the one we love calibrating in how the sh*t will hit the fan if a breakup occurs. It seems when it comes to affairs of the heart we do not do our due diligence. Reading people becomes a bit of a science as we age provided our mind is not clouded by love or lust. If your together for any length of time even the best deceivers drops a hint or two about their inner nature which should set of warning bells to "abandon ship"

Know a prospective partner for at least 50 years before marrying her, and that may not be enough!!

The problem in 'developed' countries, is that a de facto wife, long term partner, etc., is still seen by the court as a 'wife' for property distribution purposes, etc.   The guys are pharqed from the word go.

Just have no idea why anyone would get married in SE Asia.  The statistics are there.

So many nice women and just dont do anything binding.

Yea, some people make it out ok,  but everyone knows the odds.  Why risk losing everything you have over a woman.

Will never understand this mentality.
