What this means, and much more --

Abortion will be made illegal

Recognition of same sex marriages killed at federal level, probably allowed state by state, but almost worthless legally without federal recognition. People already married ... taken away.

Citizens United, corporate corruption personified ... KEPT

Minority voting rights ... degraded even more

Gun ownership rights ... beefed up even more, if that is even possible

Sounds like a win win to me.

You think Trump is interested or cares about the working class :shock1: ???

I'll be happy if proven wrong though.

The point is the Democrats, like the UK's Labour party don't. They have found a voice.

We can probably do without exaggeration/hyperbole at the moment - and I pray that he will 'tone down' now that he has won the election.

Everything I said is the truth and you would know that too if you had paid attention during the election.

Common sense, in most cases. None of his outlandish policies will actually be enacted, and I doubt anybody expects them to be. It's all about a reajustment of values. And when power swings from one side to the other, as it is supposed to in an oscillating two-party system, that in itself shows the system is working.

I hope (and think) you're right - Trump will 'tone down' now that's he's in office and has to not only live with the consequences, but also knows that history will judge his future policies.

There are real problems now in Scotland for the SNP.   They (Sturgeon and Salmond) fired him as a global ambassador for Scotland, were openly rude about him and publicly supported Clinton - and now he is the President of the USA and his mum is from the Isle of Lewis.

The mayor of London may have trouble getting a travel visa as well

Like I said, a SHOCK to the world of historic proportions. I think this event will have more negative consequences than 9-11:

How Donald Trump pulled off an upset of cataclysmic, historic proportions

Here's what I do know: Trump's victory is the single most stunning political development I have ever witnessed. And it's not close. This is the equivalent of dropping a refrigerator — or maybe 10 refrigerators — into a small-ish pond. There are obvious, giant waves. But there are 1,000 other ripples that we might not even see today — or might not even exist today.

It is a win for far right wing extremist bigots. It's tragic that so many Americans are OK with that.

Tragic that you tell yourself this lie.

Easier to vilify than to try to understand there is one simple reason why Trump won.

People want jobs.

Man, Bill Clinton won an election based upon....... "It's the economy, stupid."

In the second debate I think it was, Hillary said - NAFTA is a bad deal - but didn't move to the second part which should have been - "and when I'm president I'll repeal it."

I was watching the debate in a Democrat filled bar, and they all agreed that Trump destroyed her on the economy.  He's only been elected because people think he will create jobs, good jobs. Not the part time jobs that Obama has created because Obamacare has made it too expensive to hire people full time.

Did you know that the US corporation tax is nearly double that of the UK? and do you wonder why American companies headquarter overseas?

It's become a high cost, high tax economy - and how that happened is beyond me.

Let's see:

- building a 1.000 km wall at the southern border and making Mexico pay for it!

Can't wait to see that!

- repealing Obamacare and replace it with "something tremendous"...which is- if you care to pick up the few bits an pieces the new leader of the free world has revealed so far- essentially...Obamacare!

- imprisoning HRC for...well, since even the FBI can't find anything, even in the 3rd or 4th round of eMail- checking...stupidity, essentially! And if stupidity is a crime, do not stop with the wall at the southern border- fence in the whole USA!

- deporting all 11 million illegal immigrants and give all their high- paying and wanted jobs to the good American people!

- ban all Muslims from entering the USA and therein basically taking a hot runny dump over the 1st Amendment of your oh-so-special-constitution (I forgot: only the 2nd Amendment is special and protected!)

- make abortion punishable

...and these are only some of the things that come to mind at short notice!

Come on, you orange man- baby!\

The world is watching!

...and waiting...and waiting....and...

This is fantastic news.

The so called liberal ideologies had gone way too far to the left and instead of action, words that signal the virtue of the user were all that happened.

His pledge to inject 10 billion in capital into the poorest black neighbourhoods will make more difference than the Black Lives Matter idiots ever did.

People need jobs and a safe place to live not rhetoric from pseudo-Marxists, feminists and middle class champagne socialists.

Trump is not an intellectual and that's a good thing. The senate and the house too are Republican so if they don't affect change for the better the party knows it will be 4 years and out!

Hilary would have plunged the US into war with Russia (who will now be our allies) and spent 4 years draining every aphrodisiacal drop of power and money, privilege and obeisance from ordinary men and women whilst claiming she broke the non-existent glass ceiling. She was not fit to be either president or commander-in-chief.

She is a criminal in a pants suit and perhaps now she will be stripped of some of her ill gotten gains and prosecuted for her crimes.

In your face you politically correct pollsters, journalists and academics . . . . .burn, baby burn!

I no longer recognize the America I knew. It's like it has become a foreign country. Deeply, deeply saddening. And worrisome.

Maybe you should get out of whatever bubble you're living in and meet a few more of your fellow Americans...maybe take a cross-country drive and get to know them better.

Only Putin has called Trump to congratulate him. The rest are stressing about the nasty things they said about Trump in the past.
