The war on drugs has worked so well in other countries. Considering how efficient, effective and totally free of corruption the Thai police are, they should be able to win the war on drugs in a matter of months. Thailand! Winning!

How can you have a war on drugs? And if you can, you're having a war on something that can't and hasn't been fighting back, yet you're still getting your <deleted> kicked.

Undersrand why people take drugs first and address that issue. No money in that and you actually don't care to know? Okay, keep fighting an inanimate object and wasting millions of dollars. Insanity........

It's not a war on drugs, it's a war on some people who use certain drugs.

If it was a war against drug use, the logical thing to do would be to first get rid of the drugs that cause the most harm.

Billions have been spend trying to get rid of an herb that's never killed a single person in recorded history while at the same time alcohol and tobacco companies are getting tax subsidies.

For some reason$, alcohol and tobacco don't even seem to be up for discussion even though those two drugs are responsible for more deaths, accidents, illness, disability, societal harm,  damage to relationships and cost to society than all the yaba, weed, mushrooms, narcotics, kratom, xtc, betel nuts and hallucinogenic toads combined.

One definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

They do this in Indonesia - photo poses with a huge haul - then they pretend to burn it all. Compared to what gets through that pic doesn't even enter the top 100. And the reality is they sell it back - allegedly. Shock horror I hear you say. No way. If the good old US of A can't win the 'war on drugs', no one else will. How about tackling why they do it? Or is that too left wing, liberal, woolly jumper-wearing, Guardian-reading, soft touch for any government to contemplate?

Looking at the OP photo one thinks that they really need to take a quick course in media studies and try to look more like a professional police force.

Agreed. Putting aside the complete absurdity of the claims they are making, the photo alone is enough to make them look ridiculous.

I just noticed the ATM in the corner. Pray tell, why would you need an ATM in a police station? And why would it not even cross their minds to try to leave it out of frame when making a photo like this for the press?

Amazing Thailand.
