Popular Post frimu
I want to confirm, that I just got a tourist visa from Savannakhet without any problems. My nationality is Dutch, I'm a little over 40 years old. My passport had the following visas and visa exempts in it: 1 tourist visa from Savannakhet, 30 days extended 1 tourist visa from Penang, 30 days extended 1 tourist visa from Vientiane, 30 days extended 2 visa exempt entries, both 30 days extended I applied December 20 and received the visa today, December 21. They didn't even look much through the pages of my passport and asked me no questions. And on the next day I received the visa for free as there is no fee until end of February 2017. So I don't know, what these two reports of problems in Savannakhet were about. Hard to say anyway without knowing the nationality in those two reports. The only group of people, that I saw getting their visa refused were 4 Lao people. Everyone else passed through smoothly.

Briggsy
Thank you for taking the time to make this report. It is helpful for me and many others. Do you have time to say what documents are required e.g. how many photos, what photocopies, etc.?

freedomnow
You had no problem as you did not do 4-in-a-row from Laos. That is all they are looking for....after that, 1 more with a red stamp or flat out rejected...depending on the weather/whim of the desk clerk. I didnt have 4 in a row from laos and, whilst not rejected, i was asked for proof of funds and flights. he didnt look long enough at each page to read where each was from, he was counting how many TRs total. I suspect the op wasnt asked as he had only 3 TR visas. I was applying for my 6th. Or possibly the guy receiving applications got out the right side of bed that day..
