PHETCHABURI: -- The third wife of convicted murderer Dr Suphat Laohawatana was released from Phetchaburi Prison yesterday.

She had been serving time in connection with the theft of property of two people who were murdered by her husband.

Dr Suphat - who fled after being convicted of double murder and who had himself been sentenced to death - was coincidentally arrested in Myanmar earlier this week, reports Thairath.

Wilasa Jantharabanchorn, 44, was the third wife of the doctor fugitive. Both her and her husband were given five years for the theft of a car and other property belonging to the two murdered workers who were found buried in a pineapple plantation.

Under the terms of the amnesty decreed by His Majesty King Rama X, she could be released along with 120 others from Petchaburi provincial prison.

She walked free yesterday while her husband is now back in custody.

All amnesties for it's purposes also comes as a way to clear up more

space in the ever crowded Thai jails and prisons for the new batch

of the misguided and the criminals that this country never

seems to be short of...

Remember, you farangs. When you're in someone else's country, you must respect their laws. Only locals (usually rich ones) can absolutely take the p*** out of their own system.

Yes stupid farangs, and if you don't like it just go back from wherever you came!

It's more likely the room that is cleared so that poor people with no connections can be put in jail.

So glad that they are letting out murders and robbers, as this just comes at the right time to make room for all those terrible foreigners doing restricted occupations or even having a life without being extorted a fixed amount at regular intervals.

It all feels much safer and more fair around us, thanks Buddha!
