Phantomlord
My work permit is expiring on 10 Jan 2017 whereas my visa is expiring on 14 Feb 2017. So, I would like to know if I can stay till my visa expires or do I have to leave right after my work permit expires. If so, is there any way that I can make extension of stay? Also, will the immigration or any officer at the airport check the work permit during departure from Thailand if I plan to leave on Feb? ubonjoe
If you have a valid visa it does not end on the date the job ends. If on an extension of stay based upon working (or teaching) issued by immigration it ends on the date your job ends. You could apply for a 7 day extension pay 1900 baht and be given 7 days to leave the country. Immigration would not check to see nor care if your work permit had expired.
