fruitman
I drove behind an open backside schoolbus yesterday... the kids were sitting in the doorway. They were playfighting and yelling to me in Th-english. No rules at all for them it seems. Also i didn't see any teacher, only boys and they could easy fall out when the bus pulled up. WhamBam
Another school bus incident!! WHEN are those in authority going to make some REAL changes to the law(s) and how the laws are upheld. All the while those in authority ignore these problems, their children and others are dying in more road carnage. Best wishes to those involved in this 'accident'. I would like too know how many public mini buses and big buses have been in accidents since this new year started. I would guess it would average more than one a day. new2here
While it is largely a semantics play, I personally won't use the word accident, as that to me implies that is taken all reasonable preventative measures -- and despite that, the event still occurred. At this point I don't know exactly why this event happened - so I must understand that it MAY have been an "accident".However, if it turns out such that there were failures - failure to maintain equipment, failure to comply with driving law, etc.. THEN, I think the more accurate word would be "crash"In the end, you get the same result - true.. but I think there really should be some better understanding and acknowledgement about what really is an accident and what is not. Jeremy50
This is the time of the year when most schools send students to 'English Camps' which have little or no academic/learning value, [as all involved spend the whole time speaking Thai] and are at locations which are often, for some bizarre reason, many hundreds of kilometres from the school. These are usually profit making trips benefitting the teachers who have organised them. Cheap buses, basic lodging etc = bigger profits.
Cranky
And so the carnage continues. Investigation totally unnecessary, simply place cards in a hat with: Driver fell asleep stoned or drunk. 100 points Driver fell asleep. 80 points Blown tyre 60 points Blown driver 50 points Dodgy bus/minivan 25 points Blame someone else as driver had cash 10 points Genuine accident 0 points. Implausible. BIB can take turns investigating, most points at the end of the week gets to keep the fines for the week. Banana republic. Like the guy with axe though, trying to get the driver ?
