Banana7
I'm looking for a dermatology clinic in Pattaya where moles can be removed at a reasonable price. Any recommendations? I've tried a clinic on Pattaya Klang 100 meters west of 3rd road, but the guy wants 5,000 baht to remove 5 moles, small and medium size. He said it would take him 20 minutes to remove them by laser. giddyup
I would check with a skin specialist at Bangkok/Pattaya hospital first before I let anyone mess about with moles. Better to pay someone who probably know what they are doing. Dr Anna at the Dermatology clinic get often recommended.
Banana7
Just now, giddyup said: Then I suggest you fly back to Canada if it's too expensive here. Thanks for the advice. There are reasonably priced medical services in Thailand, much lower than Canada, it's just difficult to find good quality at a low price. Places you recommend are for the desperate and wealthy. I checked with one guy, and he wrote: Had a mole removed with a laser by a dermatologist last October at Bangkok-Pattaya hospital. It cost 6700 baht. That is a ridiculous price. That is 3 times the price in most western countries.
Rimmer
Off topic post and one reply have been removed, Canada pricing and procedure has no relevance in Pattaya

They are also for people who don't want to trust themselves to some backyard clinic and end up with some horrible botched job that might end up costing a lot more than whatever you saved. Shop around by all means.

n210mp
How can you trust an hospital, already named here that wanted over 1.2M Baht to change a pacemaker battery? My friend who was quoted this and had been a regular subscriber to the hospital mentioned got on a flight to the Uk where the procedure was done in a private hospital for a little over 5000 quid. Enough about hospitals that diagnose and prescribe for profit and back on topic. The Queen Sirikit government hospital at Sattahip has a very good Dermatologist who if you get there early in the morning and register to see her will cost you 200 Baht for the consultation plus any drugs at a reasonable cost and get you out before lunch time. The Doctor will also diagnose with the aid of Biopsy and if needed any surgery. Although there is a 50% surcharge for treatment at this hospital for Foreigners the cost are reasonable in my opinion and certainly not anything like the costs of going to a Pattaya private hospital. I have been going to this hospital for donkeys years and have been yes, frustrated by the queues and waiting time but never disappointed by the treatment from the Doctors or nursing staff. DJH77
I recommend Dr Sureeporn Sritangrattanakul at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital. She trained in Australia for 2 years and has been treating me for 4 years and I have no complaints. My problem is Skin Cancer but she has also removed 1 Mole for me. moonseeker
Dr. Anna at BPH or Dr. Waraporn at PIC. Know both well and both are excellent. Prices are a fraction of what I paid in private clinics in the USA and still much less than in any private hospital in most developed countries. Dr. Anna is one of the reasons I am still alive 2 years after 2 serious cancers, 1 of them Melanoma and I would never try to save a few Baht to have any suspicious mole removed. Depending on procedure, histology ECT. cost can be anywhere from 3-8K. or more if it is a serious situation. I was happy to pay 18K for removal of a cancerous mole, which was a 45 min. surgery. You might play with your life....Good luck. MS>

No one wants to pay more than they have to, but I know I'd rather go to someone who has all the right credentials plus a history of satisfied clients. I dropped into their dermatology dept. last week to ask what the cost is to remove a small annoying mole that I've had for decades. Don't want a biopsy just remove and toss. The nice nurse couldn't or wouldn't even give me a range or estimate. She explained I'd have to have an appointment with the doctor which would cost ฿1500. and then the doctor would give me the price. Fifteen hundred is about what I want to pay for the removal. balo
Then stay away from expensive private hospitals or be prepared to pay . At BPH I would imagine a removal of a mole would cost you 10k + doctor fee .
