Nick0828
Does anyone know of any bait fishing venues close to Bangkok that can be fished using light tackle? I want to use a light setup (6ft rod, 12lb line) without having to worry about hooking into a 70kg cat or the like. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. impulse
My favorite is Pilot 111, where I throw a 3-4 weight fly rod at pacu, barramundi and snakeheads. Just about an hour by taxi from Asoke where I live. A little longer if I drive it myself because I'm a slowpoke on Thai roads. On the way to Pattaya, too. Nice people run the place, they have a nice restaurant that serves good food, soft drinks (beer, maybe?) and coffee, and the bathroom is cleaner than mine at home. Smells better, too. http://www.john-tom.com/FishingInThailand/FishingInThailand.html#Pilot http://bangkokhooker-fishing.com/fishing-ponds/pilot-111-barramundi-galore/ Edit: 500 baht to fish whether you're local or a foreigner. (Unless they've changed it in the last few months since I've been able to get away for some fishing...)
