Got a new mouse driven box with some great content but do find that often too many streamers of live stuff make for badly interrupted live viewing. Pleased to be rid of t'other lot though and their now so poor offerings plus exorbitant costs now. ThaiExpatTV https://www.thaiexpat.tv/ also offers 7 days catchup, not currently free but there aren't the audio issues that UKTV currently has. Both the above have massive 15 minute buffers so they work well on unreliable connections, so long as you can average 1-2 Mbps you'll have uninterrupted watching pleasure. The BBC is getting very good at detecting VPNs, the last time I tried Hola it took several attempts to get an address they didn't know about. banglay Posted February 5, 2017 Share Posted February 5, 2017 The way to get around the BBC knowing you are using a VPN .. is first open another UK site (can be any site)and then turn on Hola too the UK VPN ..... after that s up and running you can open BBC Iplayer that way you are all ready in the UK on the VPN ......and the BBC can not detect the VPN turning which is how they block you . ThaiExpatTV has an Android version which works well. iLikeHD is worth a look if you don't need catchup and it has a web-based player with should run directly on your TV. I know their supplier is Be In Sports who they have paid a fortune to for the Premier League so obviously they are not prepared to pay for it or a cricket channel. UBC was better than these clowns. Watch via your computer --- via HDMI cable to your TV. And control via a wireless mouse. OR no computer required ------ purchase an Android box. This is a small box the size of a couple of cigarette packets for about 6k Baht. This goes on top of your TV, so no computer involved (but broadband LAN or wifi still required). They offer a couple of days free trial to see if your broadband and computer are fast enough. https://www.thaiexpat.tv/ The set top box negates the need for a 50 metre HDMI cable. Available all over Asia AND on my smart-phone! PS I have no interest in Thaiexpat other than a satisfied customer. PPS Do not confuse this with another company with a very similar name. Bothe the CHromecaste dongle & your computer need to be on the same network & the dongle connects using WiFi, so no additional cables required. On your PC, you can only use Google Chrome browser to stream programming. Your 'dumb' TV is essentially converted into a 'smart' TV. Cheap & easy. I've been using UKTV for a month and have found it flawless, with a five, not 15 minute delay. The downside is NO SPORT. I haven't tried THAIEXPAT because, again, NO SPORT. Or is there? I think I read on a TV forum that they don't list all their channels on the web, and the site does say that the channels are constantly changing and to contact them for a list. That translates to me as what you have today you might not have tomorrow, and we can't be bothered listing all our channels. I wouldn't want to do business with a company like that.
