The Volunteer Defense Corps in Thung Song District is helping to reconstruct the homes that were devastated by flash floods and mudslides. Four houses have been rebuilt and another three are under construction. Boonruan Plongbanchong, a resident of Tham Yai subdistrict revealed that she had been living in her relative’s home because her home was completely destroyed by the flood. She expressed her gratitude towards officials who are now in the process of repairing her home.

The department said that the damaged homes must be repaired within 30 days.

In addition, relief funds must be distributed within 60 days following the recovery. Provinces are required to comply with guidelines given by the Ministry of Finance regarding the disbursement of funds to the locals.
