PATTAYA: -- A foreign "spy" operative was used by Region 2 police to trap a Thai woman who was offering underage girls for sex in Pattaya.

The Lanna Massage shop in Soi Chalerm Prakiat 25, Banglamung, was set up as a traditional massage shop catering only to foreigners, reported Daily News.

But if the customers asked for a girl the manageress Benjamas Faesungnern, 43, was only too happy to supply one.

Region 2 police heard about this and sent in a foreign secret operative to pretend to be a customer. Benjamas fell for the ruse and provided him with a 14 year old girl in an upstairs room. She was then arrested on the spot.

She admitted everything and was charged with five offences including human trafficking and luring and offering minors for sex. She also didn't have a license to operate the massage business.

Benjamas was handed over to Pattaya police for prosecution.

The 14 year old was taken into the care of welfare agencies as efforts were made to find her relatives.

Offering underage kids for sex is not the worse thing here. what is worse

than that is that most Thai people still sees nothing wrong with it, and

will continue doing that until they get chough, when money is involve,

morality and humanity is largely non existent.....

wow!

foreign spies

do they need work permits?

Typically they use a foreigner who is banged up in the local jail at Nongplalai for drugs or overstay in exchange for some consideration on their own misfortune, ie. a transfer to IDC Bangkok and one step closer to home.

Really? How does that work? They get some time off their sentence or something?

Please provide the links to the research you've got that shows mist Thai people see nothing wrong in this.

Or is it another of those "well known facts" that come via  the bar stools?

Are you sure? Wouldn't they just use one of those ever so keen wannabee Sweeney TPV's. A volunteer is worth 10 pressed men!

So; it takes eight brave men of the Crime Suppression Squad to detain this evil woman and 3,500 soldiers to search a Temple.   Busy day yesterday for 'Law Enforcers' eh !

What's does it matter if it was 8 men? You watched to many Miami vice shows. That's not how it works in real life. Sting ops always involve MANY LE. cops guarding all exits and cops on bikes outside.

Nobody knows what type of armed criminals were inside that establishment enjoying time with kids

Evidently, sir, you have been nowhere near nor in the vicinity of a Thai village where nothing is thought of mid to late 20's guy dating a local girl of 13 or 14 years old. It is very common amongst Thai's, often revered but never condoned!

Everyone on Thai Visa who has spent time in the villages, towns and the "real Thailand" can confirm that is true!

Evidently sir you have some difficulty with the English language as your last but one sentence is contradictory.

Balderdash! I have spent time in the villages and sure there are teenagers doing what teenagers do all over the world. Just as some parents are more strict with their children than others.

Do some actual research and check the statistics on loss of virginity in Thailand, and other countries for context. You'll find real Thai culture, the average normal hard working family households are quite conservative. Not what you'd (and those who think Thailand culture is defined by Nana, Cowboy and Pattaya) expect.

Is no one going to ask how the 14 year old girl came to be working there?

Voluntary, Slave Trade, Indebted Family, lots of possibilities not being addressed.

Why do you suggest that no one asked that question bearing in mind what was stated in the report..." She admitted everything and was charged with five offences including human trafficking and luring and offering minors for sex."

Pattaya has a history of child sex.  It used to be very open and I remember a long time ago (at least twenty five years) there was an article in the international press showing a bar with really young girls sitting with farangs and cuddling up.  By really young I mean way below puberty.  Of course you wouldn't get it these days, not in the open anyway.

I wonder if they'd even bother enforcing this type of thing if they couldn't roll it into a HT conviction.  Smile take a photo and chalk one up for the new annual report.  Amazing Thailand!
