Live as cheaply or as expensively as you want. Eat whatever cuisine you want. Wider range of affordable bars, restaurants and caffs than anywhere in Thailand. Wide range of shopping. Live as quietly or as busily as you want. Social life does not have to be alcohol or sex related, plenty of darts, quiz, pool leagues etc. (Sorry no opera). Not the best beaches in the world but they are beaches. English widely spoken so minimal communication problems. Convenient for Bangkok and Suvarnabhumi. This is exactly how they eroded the CM nightlife, started with sporadic police raids till there were eventually nothing left. The end is nigh for Pattaya. In Britian the free newspapers that are delivered to homes each week are loaded with thousands of prostitutes advertising on the back pages. In parts of Australia and American brothels have been legatised and there are probably hundreds of brothels in Sydney and Melbourne, many staffed and owned by Thai sex workers and again hardly gain a mention. When I was in England our single mother neighbour was openly advertising she was a prostitute working from home while at the same time claiming welfare from the State.
