need some clarification about the re-entry permit .

Recommended Posts

hello,

so today i got my single entry visa from Kuala Lumpur.

the plan was to travel next week but i had to postponed it till first of April.

the visa i got expires on 23 of May 2017 and will enter Thailand in April,01.

i'm planing to visit Laos via Land and return back to Thailand again, i have read about the re-entry thing but still confused about it.

Usually when i enter Thailand, any date before visa expire, i get 60 days stamp.

so in my case it will be from April,01 till June,01 . if i applied for single re-entry permit lets say on April,07. What will the validity of the re-entry be?

same as my original visa which will expire on May,23 or as my entry stamp which will expire on June,01?

also, what will be the period of stay when i re-enter with the re-entry permit?

thank you

A re-entry permit keeps the remainder of the 60 day entry from the visa valid when you re-enter the country. You would get stamped in until May 30th which is 60 days from April 1st.

so it doesn't freeze the remaining period until i re-enter?

days will still counting after i left correct?

No, it doesn't freeze the days, you only get the remaining days from your original arrival on April 1st

You don't get any extra days with a multi re-entry, would still be the remainder of your original 60 days.

one thing you could do is apply for another setv when you are in Laos, that would give you another 60 days when you return to Thailand
